Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has officially renamed The Polytechnic, Ibadan, as Omololu Olunloyo Polytechnic, Ibadan, in honour of the late former Governor, Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo.

The announcement was made during an interdenominational commendation service held at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan, where Governor Makinde paid tribute to Olunloyo’s enduring legacy and his foundational role as the institution’s pioneer rector.

Makinde praised Olunloyo’s exceptional contributions to the development of Oyo State, describing him as a statesman, scholar, and trailblazer whose impact would continue to shape the state’s academic and political landscape.

“With this renaming, we immortalize a man who laid the foundation for technical and vocational education in Oyo State,” Makinde said.
