MultiChoice Nigeria has announced a 50% reduction in the price of its DStv decoder, slashing the cost from N20,000 to N10,000 in a renewed bid to win back customers and increase accessibility amid declining subscriptions.

According to the company’s Chief Executive Officer, John Ugbe, the price slash is part of a broader campaign to reward loyalty and deliver more value to customers.

“We want our customers to feel valued and have access to the best entertainment every day.

“The ‘We Got You’ campaign is about making premium content more accessible and showing that DStv has something for everyone, not just football fans,” Ugbe said.

He added that the platform is repositioning itself as a hub for daily entertainment value, offering diverse content that spans movies, dramas, kids’ shows, and news.

This rebranding effort is intended to broaden DStv’s appeal to a wider Nigerian audience.

In addition to the decoder discount, MultiChoice introduced a limited-time promotional offer allowing subscribers to upgrade to the next package tier at no extra cost when they fully renew their current plan.

The offer is valid from June 16 to July 31, 2025.

The company said both initiatives were launched in response to the economic challenges affecting Nigerian households, aiming to make quality entertainment more affordable during tough times.
