Senator Ali Ndume of Borno South has issued a stern warning to President Bola Tinubu, stating that he may consider leaving the All Progressives Congress (APC), if the administration fails to address the pressing challenges facing the country.

Speaking during an interview on Arise TV, Ndume voiced his growing dissatisfaction with the current state of governance under the Tinubu-led government.

He noted that while he still believes the President has the capacity to improve the situation, time is running out.

“I still believe President Tinubu can fix things. Failure to fix those things may cause me to leave the APC,” Ndume said. “If I decide to leave the APC, I will not hide it.”

The senator, known for his outspokenness, has been increasingly critical of the federal government’s performance in recent months.

He stressed the need for the President to urgently take concrete steps to fix the economy, address insecurity, and restore confidence in governance.

Ndume also expressed concern about the influx of defectors into the ruling party, warning that it could backfire. According to him, the growing number of political figures flocking to the APC may destabilize the party rather than strengthen it.

“If Tinubu continues this way, it doesn’t matter if he loads more people or governors, you are just endangering APC,” he said. “When you overload a ship, it might lead to the capsizing of the party.”

Ndume’s comments reflect growing tensions within the ruling party and add to the voices urging the President to take bold and decisive action to restore public trust and deliver on electoral promises.
