Everton Football Club has renewed its interest in Nigerian international Wilfred Ndidi, with plans to make a summer move for the Leicester City midfielder.

The Toffees had previously shown interest in the 27-year-old but were unable to secure a deal after he signed a new three-year contract with Leicester last summer.

Leicester City’s recent relegation from the Premier League has now activated a £9 million release clause in Ndidi’s contract, making the highly-rated midfielder available at a cut-price fee.

This development has reignited interest from top clubs, including Everton, Manchester United, and several teams from the Saudi Pro League.

Everton, eager to bolster their midfield ahead of the new season, view Ndidi as a crucial addition to strengthen their squad.

Should the move materialize, Ndidi would join the ranks of notable Nigerian players who have represented the Merseyside club.

Manchester United are also monitoring the situation closely, considering Ndidi as a potential summer signing.

Meanwhile, clubs in Saudi Arabia are reportedly offering lucrative contracts in a bid to lure the midfielder to the Middle East.

Since joining Leicester City from KRC Genk in January 2017, Ndidi has become a cornerstone of the Foxes’ midfield.

He has made over 300 appearances, scoring 18 goals and providing 22 assists.

With his future now uncertain, the coming weeks will be crucial as clubs intensify efforts to secure his signature.
