Brazilian Vice President Geraldo Alckmin and his wife, Maria Alckmin, have arrived in Nigeria for the second session of the Nigeria-Brazil Strategic Dialogue Mechanism, aimed at deepening bilateral ties between the two nations.

The Brazilian delegation was warmly received at the airport by top Nigerian government officials, including the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Senator Ibrahim Hadejia, and the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole.

Senator Hadejia described the visit as a “pivotal moment” in Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Agenda, stating that Brazil’s strengths in agribusiness, energy transition, and industrial development align with President Bola Tinubu’s national priorities.

The three-day summit is expected to produce over 30 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) covering key sectors such as defence, agricultural technology transfer, energy cooperation, and cultural exchange programmes.
