President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Dr. Awele Elumelu, Chairperson of Avon Healthcare Limited, on her 55th birthday, praising her remarkable contributions to healthcare and social development in Nigeria and across Africa.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu described Dr. Elumelu as a dedicated medical professional, philanthropist, and private sector leader committed to uplifting vulnerable communities.
The President commended her efforts in expanding access to quality healthcare, particularly through her leadership at Avon Medical Practice and Avon Healthcare.
He also highlighted her role as Africa’s Private Sector Champion for Immunisation with Gavi in 2018, where she helped drive efforts to reach over 10 million unimmunised children.
“She has built a remarkable legacy as a life-saver, advocate for women and children, and a relentless force in the fight for health equity,” Tinubu said.
He also applauded her passion for fitness, citing her participation in marathons as an inspiration to Nigerians pursuing healthy living.
Tinubu further acknowledged her leadership roles at Heirs Holdings and the Tony Elumelu Foundation, where she continues to empower young entrepreneurs.
He prayed for her continued good health and success, wishing her many more years of impactful service to humanity.
