The Lagos State Government has launched the “Ounje Lo Re Awo” food and nutrition outreach to support women’s health and well-being at the grassroots.
Through the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, 250 women from Kosofe, Agboyi-Ketu, Ikeja, and Ifako-Ijaiye received food items and nutritional education during the event held at the Isheri Skills Acquisition Centre.
Commissioner Bolaji Dada said the initiative goes beyond food distribution, aiming to restore dignity and promote wellness.
“It is about empowering women to make informed dietary choices,” she said.
Beneficiaries received rice, beans, vegetables, eggs, curry, and whole chickens.
Nutritionist Sola Malomo advised participants to include local staples like okra and drink more water to boost their health.
The outreach reflects Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to women’s welfare and sustainable healthy living across Lagos.
