President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was in Kaduna on Thursday to inaugurate a fleet of 100 compressed natural gas mass-transit buses, part of Governor Uba Sani’s initiative to provide affordable and eco-friendly transportation in the state.

The ceremony, held at Murtala Mohammed Square, was attended by dignitaries including the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin; and the Emir of Zazzau.

Tinubu praised the Kaduna government for its commitment to clean energy, describing the project as a model for sustainable urban mobility.

“This is a major step toward reducing transportation costs for the people while embracing cleaner energy options,” Tinubu said.

During his visit, the President also commissioned a 300-bed specialist hospital at Millennium City, skills acquisition centers in Rigachikun and Samaru-Kataf, and roads in Kafanchan, Kauru, and Kubau local government areas.

He noted that these projects demonstrate the effectiveness of federal and state collaboration under the Renewed Hope agenda.

The event was briefly disrupted by a security scare when an unidentified individual attempted to breach the gathering.

Security agents quickly intervened and restored order. No harm came to the President, and proceedings continued without further incident.

Officials assured attendees that all security protocols remained intact and effective.

Tinubu rounded off the visit by reaffirming his administration’s commitment to infrastructure, economic reform, and partnerships with states to deliver lasting development.

The Kaduna leg is part of his ongoing nationwide tour to inspect projects and engage with citizens.
