Nigeria has intensified its national security efforts through the second National Counter Terrorism Strategy (NACTEST) stakeholders’ meeting held in Abuja.

The meeting brought together top security officials, civil society actors, and international partners to assess progress and explore improved approaches to tackling terrorism.

The National Security Adviser and National Coordinator of NACTEST, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, led the session.

He emphasized the importance of intelligence-sharing, stronger inter-agency collaboration, and community participation in combating terrorism and violent extremism.

Ribadu also noted the government’s ongoing efforts to address emerging threats such as terrorism financing, cybercrime, and porous borders.

He commended security agencies for their resilience and urged stakeholders to embrace technology and community engagement as tools for strengthening national security.

Participants stressed that lasting success will require cooperation among communities, traditional rulers, security forces, and regional partners.

The meeting reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to citizen safety and national stability.

It also called for increased public awareness and proactive policies aimed not just at fighting terrorism but addressing its root causes.
