Sky Bet Championship side Hull City has signed Nigerian international Semi Ajayi on a two-year contract.

The 31-year-old defender joins the club as a free agent after leaving West Bromwich Albion at the end of the 2024/25 season.

Ajayi spent six years at West Brom, making 177 appearances and scoring 13 goals.

He played a key role in their promotion to the Premier League in the 2019/20 season and became a mainstay in their defense.

A product of Arsenal’s youth academy, Ajayi brings experience, leadership, and physical strength to Hull’s backline.

The deal, which begins on July 1, 2025, includes an option for a further year.

Speaking on the move, Ajayi said he was drawn by Hull City’s ambition and is confident in his ability to contribute with his Championship experience and leadership.

Fans have welcomed the signing, hopeful that Ajayi will bring much-needed stability to the defense as the club targets a strong campaign. His arrival is seen as a boost to Hull’s push for promotion.

Ajayi has been capped 43 times by Nigeria and featured in every minute of the Super Eagles’ run to the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

His international experience adds further depth to Hull City’s squad.
