Dr Adedolapo Fasawe, Mandate Secretary of the Health Services and Environment Secretariat of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), has earned national acclaim after receiving three major awards in one month for her outstanding contributions to healthcare, environmental protection, and climate action.

At the Annual Conference of the Pest Control Association of Nigeria held in Lagos, Dr Fasawe was honoured with the title “Amazon of Environmental Health” in recognition of her leadership in promoting pest control and sustainable environmental practices.

Shortly afterward, she was celebrated in Abuja as a “Silent Hero in Healthcare Delivery” at the 7th Nigeria Silent Heroes Awards, commending her behind-the-scenes reforms and steady impact on the Federal Capital Territory’s health sector.

Her third award came from her alma mater, Obafemi Awolowo University, which presented her with an “Award of Excellence in Climate Action” during its 2025 International Conference on “Accelerating Climate Action for Sustainable Livelihoods in Nigeria.”

In a statement released by her Media Aide, Mrs Bola Ajao, Dr Fasawe expressed gratitude for the recognitions, attributing them to the support of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and the enabling environment created under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“These recognitions are not just personal. They reflect the collective drive of the FCTA to deliver real change and improve lives,” she said.

The awards have drawn commendation from top government figures including the Minister of Environment, Malami Balarabe Abba Lawal; a representative of the Osun State Governor; former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Prof Modupeola Adelabu; and Vice Chancellor of OAU, Prof A.S. Bamire, all of whom described Dr Fasawe as a shining example of purposeful public service.
