Residents of Gidan Mangoro have praised the National Youth Service Corps for offering free healthcare services to their community through its Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers.

The traditional ruler, Alhaji Musa Magaji, expressed his gratitude during the second edition of the 2025 outreach.

He said the NYSC intervention was unlike anything the community had received before. “The government has visited a few times, but we have never experienced anything like this. This NYSC health outreach is different. God bless them,” Magaji said.

He described the programme as timely and impactful, highlighting the community’s struggle with limited access to healthcare due to a lack of facilities and an overstretched health centre.

He commended corps members not only for providing medical consultations and treatment but also for educating residents on hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.

During the outreach, residents received free consultations, essential drugs, and treatment.

NYSC Director-General Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, represented by Dr Ahmed Ikaka, Director of Planning, Research, and Statistics, reaffirmed the scheme’s commitment to supporting underserved communities through health-focused initiatives.
