Nigeria Set to Compete in Inaugural Africa Flag Football Championship

The Nigerian American Football Association (NAFA), is set to compete in the inaugural IFAF Africa Flag 2025 tournament, holding from June 20-21 at Club One Maadi Stadium in Cairo, Egypt. Nigeria will feature three teams: men’s, women’s, and under-13.

NAFA President Babajide Akeredolu highlighted years of grassroots development, with over 17,000 children participating since 2019. Nigeria faces Egypt, Cameroon, and South Africa in Group A.

The event marks a milestone in promoting American football across Africa. Winners will contest for the continent’s first-ever gold medal.
