First Lady Pledges Stronger Support for Women’s Health, Education

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has reaffirmed her commitment to advancing women and girls’ health and education through national programmes and her Renewed Hope Initiative.

Speaking at the 7th MERCK Foundation First Ladies Initiative Summit in Dubai, Mrs. Tinubu praised the Foundation for training over 2,270 medical professionals across 52 countries and empowering girls through education.

“This programme benefits our country immensely. I’m committed to expanding its reach to empower more Nigerian doctors and improve healthcare,” she said.

She also lauded the Foundation’s scholarships and awareness campaigns targeting infertility stigma, domestic violence, and chronic illnesses.

First Ladies from 13 other nations also pledged to strengthen partnerships with MERCK Foundation to advance healthcare and education for women and girls across Africa.
