The Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), says it has recorded significant progress in infrastructure development across Abuja, despite earlier delays and funding constraints.
Executive Secretary Engr. Richard Yunana Dauda stated in Abuja that multiple projects involving roads, water, power, and buildings, some pending for five to ten years have now been completed or are nearing completion under the current administration.
He attributed the improvement to increased funding and the Federal Capital Territory Minister’s innovative approach to revenue generation and project management.
Dauda cautioned against illegal developments on reserved corridors such as waterways and sewer lines, identifying these encroachments as key causes of flooding in areas like Lokogoma.
He noted that the clearance of the Gishiri community enabled the resumption of major road construction in that area.
The FCDA advised residents to comply with the Abuja Master Plan and reiterated that the Development Control Department will continue removing structures built on unauthorized plots.
