The Gaya Emirate Council in Kano State has withdrawn the traditional title of Wazirin Gaya from former Secretary to the State Government and APC chieftain, Alhaji Usman Alhaji.
The decision, conveyed in a letter dated Wednesday and signed by the Emirate Secretary, Alhaji Bello Halilu, cited “unavoidable circumstances” but gave no specific reasons.
The move comes days after Alhaji, under the “APC Patriotic Volunteers,” criticized Governor Abba Yusuf’s NNPP-led administration.
The council, however, appreciated his past contributions and urged the public to take note.
