Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has congratulated his predecessor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, on his 50th birthday, describing him as a visionary leader who transformed governance in the state.

Ododo hailed Bello’s rise in 2016 as Nigeria’s youngest governor as a bold example of youth empowerment and leadership renewal.

He said Bello created opportunities for young people and women across Kogi, breaking political barriers and promoting inclusive governance.

“As a product of his leadership philosophy, I stand as a testament to his vision of empowering new generations,” Ododo said.

He praised Bello’s achievements in education, civil service reform, security, and infrastructure, noting the establishment of two universities, increased education funding, and major support for security agencies.

Ododo also highlighted Bello’s commitment to women’s inclusion through a 35% affirmative action policy, calling it a model for other states.

He concluded with prayers for continued divine guidance for the former governor in his future pursuits.
