The Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC has reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating corruption and promoting transparency in traffic enforcement across Nigeria.
The Corps has now made it mandatory for all traffic fines to be paid strictly through designated banks or approved electronic platforms.
Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed, while addressing the media, emphasized that bribery in any form will no longer be tolerated.
He warned that both motorists who offer bribes and FRSC officials who solicit or accept them will face arrest and prosecution in accordance with the law.
He stated clearly that no cash payments should be made to officers on duty under any circumstances. All traffic fines must be deposited directly into the federal government’s Treasury Single Account TSA using the appropriate banking channels.
Motorists are advised to always collect and keep receipts after making payments as proof in case of future verification.
The Corps emphasized that such documentation is necessary to avoid misunderstandings at checkpoints or during enforcement operations.
The FRSC has also issued a strong warning to its personnel. Any officer found collecting cash or engaging in corrupt practices while on duty will face strict disciplinary action.
To support its anti-corruption campaign, the Corps is encouraging the public to report any case of bribery or misconduct by FRSC officials.
Complaints can be submitted through the Flag-It mobile app, via the official FRSC email, on verified social media platforms, or by visiting any FRSC office nationwide.
The FRSC says this renewed effort is aimed at restoring public confidence, ensuring accountability among officers, and enhancing road safety for all Nigerians.
