Terror struck Tse Yange, a Tiv community in Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, late Sunday night, as suspected herdsmen launched a deadly assault on the village.
The attackers, reportedly on motorbikes, stormed the farming settlement under the cover of darkness, killing the village head and abducting several residents.
The violence, which continued into the early hours of Monday, forced many villagers to flee their homes.
Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic and chaos, with multiple injuries reported.
However, the exact number of casualties and abductees remains unconfirmed as of press time.
The attack has reignited fears over rising insecurity in rural Nasarawa, particularly in communities with a history of tension between locals and suspected herders.
