The Iyan Jama’are and eldest son of the late Emir of Jama’are, Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Wabi, has died in a fatal motor accident on Sunday, June 15, 2025.
Until his death, Wabi was the District Head of Hanafari and was widely respected for his humility and commitment to traditional leadership.
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, described the news as “deeply shocking and painful.”
In a statement by his media adviser, Mukhtar Gidado, the governor said Wabi’s untimely death is a great loss to the Jama’are Emirate and the entire state.
“Ahmed Nuhu Wabi was a beacon of hope and an embodiment of service, justice, and peace,” he said.
The late Wabi was heir to Emir Ahmadu Muhammadu Wabi III, who ruled for 50 years before passing in February 2020.
His burial is scheduled for today, June 16, at 10:00 a.m. at the Emir’s Palace in Bauchi.
