First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has emphasized the pivotal role fathers play in shaping strong families and building a stable nation.
In a heartfelt message to mark Father’s Day 2025, she called for increased support for men in their roles as parents, mentors, and community leaders.
Commending Nigerian fathers for their dedication and sacrifices, Mrs. Tinubu praised their efforts in raising children who are confident, morally upright, and compassionate.
She also recognized men who, beyond biological ties, take on the responsibilities of fatherhood through mentorship and community involvement.
“I extend my deepest respect to all Nigerian fathers who are committed to raising children that are confident, responsible, and caring,” she said. “I also applaud men who embrace fatherhood through mentorship, guardianship, and community leadership.”
Highlighting the wider societal impact of responsible fatherhood, the First Lady stressed that empowering men in their paternal roles is essential for family stability and national progress.
She urged stakeholders to create environments that enable fathers to thrive.
“It is important we continue to provide the encouragement and conditions necessary for fathers to succeed.
“Their involvement strengthens the family unit and, by extension, the nation,” she noted.
Mrs. Tinubu concluded her message with prayers for fathers across the country, acknowledging the challenges they face and expressing hope that their efforts will yield lasting fulfillment.
“May God bless all fathers, give you the strength to carry your responsibilities, and reward your labour with peace and joy,” she said.
