Residents and traditional leaders of Bwari Area Council have commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for his bold infrastructural interventions and inclusive approach to governance, saying his leadership has brought a new era of visible progress across the territory.

In a rare show of unity, community representatives from all ten political wards-Bwari Central, Byazhin, Dutse Alhaji, Igu, Kawu, Kubwa, Kuduru, Shere, Ushafa, and Usuma, praised the Minister’s commitment to grassroots development.

They described Wike as a “Godsend” whose impact is being felt by residents regardless of political, religious, or ethnic affiliations.

“Minister Wike has changed the story of our communities,” said a community leader. “From road rehabilitation to school upgrades and healthcare improvements, his administration is delivering where many others have failed.”

Among the key projects drawing praise are the construction of the Bwari-Gurara and Bwari–Igu roads; long-neglected routes now undergoing major upgrades expected to improve transportation, access to social services, and economic activity in the region.

The community’s endorsement of the Minister has also sparked political momentum within the area.

Many residents are now rallying behind grassroots advocate Hassan Musa Mohammed, endorsing him for the position of Chairman in the upcoming Area Council elections.

Supporters say Mohammed embodies the same development-focused and inclusive leadership style that Wike has demonstrated.

“Hassan is young, visionary, and deeply connected to our communities,” said Fatima Abdullahi of Kuduru ward. “We need leaders who understand our struggles and can build on the strong foundation Wike has laid.”

Bwari Area Council, home to institutions like the Nigerian Law School, JAMB Headquarters, Veritas University, and Usuma Dam, plays a strategic role in the capital’s infrastructure and national services.

Residents argue that such significance warrants consistent investment and people-centered leadership.

The widespread appreciation for Wike’s efforts and the grassroots push for new leadership reflect a growing political consciousness in Bwari; one rooted in performance, unity, and results.
