The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has extended the enforcement deadline for the tinted glass permit to August 12, 2025, following public feedback and concerns.
Police spokesperson, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, announced the extension in a statement on Saturday, noting that it aims to allow for further improvements to the digital application process and to prevent undue hardship for Nigerians.
“The extension of enforcement is also intended to give room for additional enhancements and refinements to the application process, ensuring that no member of the public is unduly disadvantaged,” the statement read.
According to Adejobi, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), is actively working to simplify both the physical and online application options, incorporating enhanced verification mechanisms and streamlining procedures to reduce delays and eliminate unnecessary inconvenience.
Citizens are advised to use only the official portal, www.possap.gov.ng, for applying or renewing tinted glass permits.
He also urged Nigerians to report any hidden charges or incidents of extortion during the application or biometric capture process via the hotline: 0916 996 7000.
