Lamidi Ajadi, a prominent Ibadan businessman and founder of Lamidi Ajadi and Sons Nigeria Limited, has died at the age of 89 after a brief illness.
Ajadi, widely respected in the automotive industry, built one of the most reputable tyre dealership companies in the region, supplying automotive components to individuals, corporate clients, government agencies, and international institutions.
His death was confirmed by family sources, who described him as a pillar of strength, discipline, and inspiration.
He will be laid to rest on Wednesday, June 12, 2025, in accordance with Islamic rites.
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, paid tribute to Ajadi, describing him as a thoroughbred Ibadan man whose legacy includes immense contributions to the socio-economic development of the city and the state at large.
Lamidi Ajadi & Sons Nigeria Limited, popularly known as “Tyre House,” has operated for over six decades.
The company’s headquarters is located opposite Baba Onilu, Iwo Road Roundabout, Ibadan.
