Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, and Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, are among the headline speakers at this year’s edition of The Platform, an annual event organised by Pastor Poju Oyemade to commemorate Nigeria’s Democracy Day.

The event, scheduled for Thursday in Lagos, will also feature former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; former Lagos Governor, Babatunde Fashola; ex-INEC Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega; and the first female President of Mauritius, Dr. Ameenah Gurib-Fakim.

According to a statement issued on Tuesday by Soludo’s Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, the Anambra Governor will speak on the theme “Rebuilding the Nation.”

“As Nigeria marks another Democracy Day amidst familiar national challenges, Nigerians yearn for credible voices offering not only diagnosis but also an inspiring blueprint for renewal,” the statement read.

“Among such voices is Governor Soludo; a revered economist, thought leader, and patriot who believes deeply in Nigeria’s potential for greatness.”

Aburime described Soludo as a leader whose influence extends beyond Anambra, grounded not in rhetoric but in intellectual depth and visible action.

As a former Central Bank Governor and globally respected economist, Soludo brings a profound understanding of economic systems and governance, he noted.

“Today in Anambra, he is executing a clear vision to transform the state into a livable, prosperous, smart megacity,” the statement added.

Aburime emphasized that Soludo’s participation at The Platform is especially timely, given Nigeria’s ongoing economic and governance challenges.

“We’re not expecting just another political speech, but a critical contribution from a dynamic leader with ideas that can help the nation navigate its complex realities.”

Hosted by The Covenant Nation, The Platform is renowned for bringing together leaders from politics, business, and civil society to engage in thought-provoking conversations about Nigeria’s development.
