Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk on Wednesday expressed regret over some of his recent social media posts aimed at former U.S. President Donald Trump, admitting that his comments “went too far.”

The tensions began after Musk harshly criticized Trump’s tax and spending bill, describing it as a “disgusting abomination.”

The remarks sparked a public exchange between the two influential figures.

“I regret some of my posts about President Donald Trump last week. They went too far,” Musk wrote on his X handle (formerly Twitter).

Though he did not specify which posts he was referring to, Musk has since deleted several critical tweets, including one that alleged Trump’s name appeared in the still-sealed Epstein files.

The rift intensified when Trump announced that their relationship was over. However, he later softened his stance, stating he would have no problem if Musk chose to reach out.

“We had a good relationship, and I wish him well,” Trump said, while also suggesting he might reconsider Tesla’s eligibility for government contracts.

Musk responded with a heart emoji, signaling a possible thaw in tensions. Following the apology, Tesla shares rose by 2.44% in Frankfurt.

Sources close to Musk say he has calmed down and may be open to mending ties with Trump.

Meanwhile, Trump confirmed he has no intention of discontinuing the Starlink satellite internet services provided to the White House by Musk’s company, SpaceX.
