President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), is ready to welcome the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, into its fold whenever he decides to join.

Speaking on Wednesday, Tinubu stated that although Wike is not yet a registered member of the APC, the party remains open to embracing him due to his impactful role in governance.

“Wike is not yet in APC, but we are ready to receive him,” Tinubu said.

He described Wike’s contributions in the FCT as commendable, noting that with such leadership, the APC would remain in high spirits while opposition parties would be left in discomfort.

“With Wike, APC will continue to be in a joyous mood, and our opponents will continue to writhe in pain,” he added.

Tinubu’s remarks have further fuelled speculation about Wike’s political future amid ongoing tensions within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), where the FCT minister has been a controversial figure.

Wike, a former governor of Rivers State and a key PDP stakeholder, has yet to formally announce any move to the APC.

However, his close alliance with the Tinubu administration continues to spark debate about a possible defection.
