The Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Investigators of Nigeria (CIFCFIN) has urged the Federal Government to commission a sweeping forensic performance audit of donor-funded and development-partner-supported projects nationwide.

President of the Institute, Dr. Iliyasu Gashinbaki, made the call in Abuja during the 12th direct membership and fellowship induction ceremony, where 152 new members were formally admitted.

Gashinbaki said such an audit would trace the flow and utilisation of funds, identify abandoned or misappropriated projects, and hold defaulting parties accountable.

“This is not just about transparency,” he said. “It’s about national development. We must track the promises made in donor programmes and match them with tangible results.”

He added that the goal is to independently verify project delivery and ensure every dollar, euro, or naira spent delivers real impact.
