Nollywood actress and entrepreneur, Aisha Lawal, has dismissed claims that she received a car gift from the Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), MC Oluomo.
Speaking on the Talk to B show, Lawal addressed a viral video in which Baba Bistijabah, a member of the NURTW, alleged that MC Oluomo collected a Venza car from him and gave it to the actress.
Reacting, Lawal said the claim was completely false. “I have never in my life driven a Venza. I don’t even like the car. I drive a GX 460, not a Venza,” she stated.
She questioned the credibility of the allegation and the intent behind it. “I don’t know if that man was trying to set me up or if he was high when he said that. It’s just ridiculous,” she said.
Lawal used the opportunity to recount her journey to financial independence. She revealed that her breakthrough came during the COVID-19 lockdown when she made ₦10 million in one week through business ventures.
While noting that she respects MC Oluomo and appreciates the support he gives to others, she emphasized that she has never received anything from him.
Aàà“Let’s be clear – I did not get any car from MC Oluomo. I’ve worked hard for every kobo I have,” she said.
The actress urged people to stop undermining successful women with baseless rumours. “I suffered to get where I am today. My name deserves some respect,” she added.
