Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has donated 300 Saudi Riyals, approximately N124000, to each of the over 2000 pilgrims from the state currently performing the 2025 Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
During a visit to the Bauchi State pilgrims’ camp in Mina, the governor checked on the welfare of the pilgrims and announced the financial support as a gesture of encouragement.
He acknowledged their endurance during the Hajj rites and urged them to continue in prayer for Nigeria.
“I know you have endured a lot over the past few days while performing the Hajj rites, so I am donating 300 Riyal to each of you,” Governor Mohammed said. He also called on them to pray for peace, good governance, and sincerity in political leadership.
The governor praised the Saudi Arabian authorities for the smooth organization of the pilgrimage, attributing their success to effective governance.
He expressed confidence that with dedication, Nigeria could attain similar standards.
“Saudi Arabia has demonstrated what good governance can achieve by organizing a successful Hajj.
“We believe Nigeria can reach such heights. We are doing our best to deliver good governance and hope to do more,” he added.
Governor Mohammed also requested prayers for Bauchi State, particularly in the areas of security and unity.
He commended the pilgrims for their good conduct and acknowledged the efforts of the state officials who have ensured a smooth exercise.
During the visit, he extended his condolences to the pilgrims and the people of Bauchi State over the death of a pilgrim from Ganjuwa Local Government Area, who passed away on the Day of Arafah.
