U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened to cancel government contracts with Elon Musk’s companies, prompting the billionaire to back calls for Trump’s impeachment.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump claimed that cutting subsidies to Musk’s firms would save billions of dollars.
Following the post, Tesla stock dropped by 14.3 percent, wiping out nearly $150 billion in market value.
Musk responded on X, accusing Trump of ingratitude despite his past support and donations.
He also criticized Trump’s economic policies and warned of a potential recession.
The dispute extended to space affairs as Musk briefly threatened to retire the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, though he reversed the decision just hours later.
