The Kaduna State Police Command has dismissed as false a viral report claiming that between 150 and 200 people were kidnapped along the Abuja Kaduna Highway.
In a statement, police spokesperson DSP Mansir Hassan said no such incident occurred and described the report as entirely fabricated.
According to him, the highway has not recorded a single case of kidnapping in the past two years due to sustained surveillance and joint patrols by the police, military, Department of State Services, and other security agencies.
He cautioned individuals and media platforms against spreading false information capable of causing public panic, warning that those found responsible may be invited for questioning and prosecuted accordingly.
The command urged the public to rely on credible and verified sources for information, reiterating that the Kaduna State government and security agencies remain committed to protecting lives and property across the state.
