The management of Abakaliki FC has resolved the half pay dispute with players following their spirited performance against Godswill Akpabio United in a Matchday 18 fixture of the 2024/2025 Nigeria National League in Uyo, which ended in a narrow one nil loss.

Abakaliki FC has struggled in Conference B of the ongoing league season, currently sitting at the bottom of the table with just 17 points from 18 matches.

Their league struggles, however, stand in contrast to their impressive run in the President Federation Cup, where their giant-killing feats have earned them national attention.

The team has reached the final and is set to face Kwara United.

The players’ salaries were initially slashed by fifty percent following a disappointing three two home defeat to Sporting FC Lagos on Matchday 17.

In light of their improved showing in the subsequent away fixture against Akpabio United, the club’s leadership has decided to reinstate full pay to the players as they prepare for the highly anticipated Federation Cup final.
