President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday evening received the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, at his private residence in Ikoyi, Lagos.
Governor Adeleke was accompanied by his elder brother, Chief Adedeji Adeleke; a prominent businessman and philanthropist and his nephew, globally celebrated Afrobeat star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.
The visit was made public by the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, who shared photos and details via his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle, @DOlusegun.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu receives in audience H.E. Ademola Adeleke, Executive Governor of Osun State, and Chief Adedeji Adeleke at his residence in Lagos,” Olusegun wrote.
Although the meeting was held behind closed doors and no official statement was released, sources described the engagement as warm and constructive. It is seen as part of President Tinubu’s ongoing efforts to build bridges and foster collaboration across party lines.
Governor Adeleke, a chieftain of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has recently praised the President’s inclusive approach to governance and emphasis on national unity.
Chief Adedeji Adeleke is renowned for his investments in business and education.
Davido’s presence at the meeting attracted widespread attention on social media, with many interpreting it as a symbolic gesture of generational and bipartisan engagement.
The visit comes amid increasing political consultations across the country, although there is no official indication that it is linked to the 2027 electoral cycle.
