The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has reiterated the administration’s resolve to take bold and sometimes unpopular decisions in order to revitalise Nigeria’s capital city.

Speaking during a monthly media chat held at his official residence in Life Camp, Abuja, on Monday, Wike stated that difficult decisions are necessary to correct systemic failures that have long hindered Abuja’s development.

“The FCT is now working,” Wike declared. “We are making decisions that previous administrations hesitated to take. It is not about sentiment; it’s about doing what is right for good governance and national progress.”

He emphasised that his actions are not influenced by regional or religious affiliations but by a firm commitment to delivering results.

“I’m not doing it because I’m from a particular place or belong to a certain religion. I’m doing it because the FCT deserves a government that delivers on its mandate. We must support this government and make a difference,” Wike said.

The minister acknowledged that while these decisions may be tough and attract criticism, they are essential steps in transforming Abuja into a functional and modern capital city.
