The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has announced the deployment of 36,000 personnel and 1,095 patrol assets across the country to ensure safe and seamless traffic flow during the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
According to the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, the special patrol operations will commence on Thursday and run through June 11.
The deployment includes 750 patrol vehicles, 120 ambulances, 25 tow trucks, and over 200 motorcycles.
Mohammed emphasized the need for motorists to comply with traffic regulations and cooperate with FRSC operatives and other security agencies during the festive period.
He warned that violators would be arrested and prosecuted, with mobile courts operational nationwide to ensure swift justice.
The FRSC said the nationwide operation is part of efforts to minimize road crashes and facilitate a smooth travel experience for Nigerians celebrating the Muslim festival.
“The goal is to ensure a safe, peaceful, and enjoyable Eid-el-Kabir celebration for all road users,” the corps marshal stated.
