Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have neutralized at least 60 terrorists during a fierce overnight operation in the Bita area of Borno State.

The Nigerian Army, in a statement released on Friday via its official X handle, described the operation as “decisive and coordinated,” noting that it involved a joint land and air assault.

The attack began at approximately 1:09 a.m. on Friday, when insurgents launched an assault on troops of the 26 Task Force Brigade.

In response, the troops, supported by the Nigerian Air Force, launched a counteroffensive that overwhelmed and eliminated the terrorist threat.

“In a decisive and coordinated operation, gallant troops of Operation Hadin Kai launched a simultaneous land and air assault on terrorist positions in Bita, Borno State, in the early hours of today,” the statement read. “The intense battle resulted in the neutralization of at least 60 terrorists.”

The Nigerian Armed Forces reaffirmed their commitment to defending the nation’s territorial integrity and protecting law-abiding citizens.

The military assured Nigerians that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure that no terrorist group finds a safe haven within the country.
