President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to confronting insecurity, reforming governance, and reducing corruption across Nigeria.

Marking the second anniversary of his presidency on Wednesday, Tinubu assured Nigerians that his government is working tirelessly to restore peace and stability, especially amid growing concerns over national security.

He pledged to equip security agencies with the necessary tools and support to win the war against terrorism, banditry, and other threats.

“Our administration is determined to fight insecurity in every corner of the country,” Tinubu said. “Security operatives will be fully empowered with the equipment and resources needed to secure lives and property.”

Highlighting the goals of his Renewed Hope Agenda, the President reiterated his focus on tackling economic instability, reducing poverty, strengthening institutions, and building a corruption-free governance framework.

Tinubu acknowledged the economic hardship faced by many Nigerians due to ongoing reforms, but emphasized the necessity of those measures. “We do not take your patience for granted,” he stated.

“The only alternative to our reforms was a looming fiscal crisis – one that could have triggered runaway inflation, fuel shortages, a crashing Naira, external debt default, and economic collapse.”

On economic progress, the President noted significant improvements, including declining prices of rice and other staples, and a resurgence in the oil and gas sector.

“Rig counts have risen by over 400% in 2025 compared to 2021, and more than $8 billion in new investments have been committed,” he said.

He added that the economy has now stabilised, putting Nigeria in a stronger position to grow and withstand global economic shocks.

Tinubu expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their continued support, stating, “We remain committed to the grand vision of uplifting our nation and renewing the hopes and aspirations of our people.”
