Chelsea captain Reece James has warned his teammates to brace up for a tough contest as they face Spanish side Real Betis in the UEFA Europa Conference League final today (Wednesday).

The Blues stand on the brink of history – a win would make them the first club to have lifted all three major UEFA club competitions: Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League.

Enzo Maresca’s men have already secured Champions League football for next season, finishing in the top five of the Premier League. But their focus now shifts to crowning the season with European silverware.

Speaking during his pre-match press conference on Tuesday, James cautioned that Betis will pose a serious threat.

“It’s going to be a high-class game against a high-class opposition with a number of quality players,” he said. “We’ll have to set up strong and give it everything to win.”

James emphasized that Chelsea have treated every competition with seriousness under Maresca, and the Conference League is no exception.

“You can’t neglect any competition. At the end of the day, this is another major European final. We’re playing against a big team with a proud history,” he said.

A crucial figure for Chelsea tonight will be midfield enforcer Moises Caicedo, who was recently named both Player and Players’ Player of the Season.

“Moises has been outstanding,” James noted. “He told me it was tough when he first arrived, but this season he’s grown so much – as a player and a person. His English has improved too, which helps!

“He’s been vital to the team – the only player to feature in every Premier League game this season. That speaks volumes about his importance and consistency.”

Chelsea will be aiming to end their season on a high and write their name in European football history once again.
