President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting Nigerian children from bullying, violence, and neglect.
In a message to mark the 2025 National Children’s Day, Tinubu described children as the pride and future of the nation.
He emphasized that his government is working to create an environment where “every child feels safe, respected, and heard.”
The president said efforts are underway to strengthen child protection systems, including the expansion of the Child Protection Information Management System (CPIMS) for real-time tracking of abuse cases.
He also referenced the National Plan of Action on Ending Violence Against Children (2024–2030), which aims to prevent abuse and provide support for affected children.
To combat child hunger, Tinubu announced the scaling up of the National School Feeding Programme and the Nutrition 774 initiative to ensure “no child in Nigeria goes hungry.”
He further highlighted the implementation of the National Policy on Safety, Security, and Violence-Free Schools, as well as newly developed guidelines for school administrators to ensure safer learning environments.
Tinubu urged Nigerians to support the “See Something, Say Something, Do Something” campaign, calling for collective responsibility in safeguarding children.
He assured children across the country that their voices and dreams matter and encouraged them to speak out if they face harm.
The president also called on state governments and stakeholders to prioritize child welfare in policies and budgets, stating that children are “the heart and future of the nation.”
He concluded with a message of hope and unity, stressing that no child should suffer in silence or be left behind.
