Peter Okoye, better known as Mr P, has opened up about the emotional toll and finality of his split from twin brother and music partner, Paul Okoye, known as Rudeboy.

Speaking during a recent interview on Cool FM Lagos, the Nigerian pop star said the iconic P Square duo had done their best to stay together, but the strain had become unbearable.

“There’s a joy that comes with going solo. Please respect our decisions. We’ve tried it, it’s not working,” Mr P said, reflecting on the failed reunion.

He further revealed he had endured more than twenty years of betrayal and manipulation within the family, describing his solo path as a more fulfilling experience.

P Square first went their separate ways in 2016 over family and management conflicts, reuniting briefly in 2021 to the delight of fans. But in August 2023, Paul Okoye confirmed the duo had again gone their separate ways.

With Peter’s latest remarks, hopes for another reconciliation appear to be fading fast.
