Alhaji Yakubu Garba Gobir, Sarkin Gobir of Ilorin Emirate and Wazirin Kasar Hausa, has hailed President Bola Tinubu’s appointment of Dr. Ibrahim Shehu Shema as Chairman of the Federal Capital Development Authority, calling it a bold step toward transforming the Federal Capital Territory.
In a statement issued Saturday, Gobir praised Tinubu’s leadership for placing competence above politics, describing Shema as a proven administrator with a strong record in public service.
“This appointment reflects the President’s understanding of what Abuja needs right now seasoned leadership with vision and proven capacity,” Gobir stated, noting Shema’s enduring legacy in Katsina State.
Highlighted the critical role of the FCDA in shaping Abuja’s infrastructure and urban identity, expressing confidence that Shema’s leadership will usher in a new era of visionary planning and inclusive development.
Gobir called Shema’s selection a “worthy recognition” of his patriotism and dedication to nation building, urging all stakeholders to rally behind him for the good of Abuja and Nigeria at large.
“This is a commendable move by President Tinubu,” he added. “And I have no doubt that with Dr. Shema at the helm of the FCDA, we will witness remarkable progress in the Federal Capital Territory.”
