In a bid to uplift vulnerable rural women, Bright Obasi, a passionate humanitarian and founder of ‘The Sunbeam Foundation’, has continued to provide hope through life-changing skill acquisition programs.

Speaking during a recent empowerment outreach held in a remote community in the outskirts of Abuja, Obasi emphasized the importance of equipping women with practical skills to break the cycle of poverty.

The initiative focused on training participants in tailoring, soap making, bead crafting, and small-scale agribusiness.

“We are here to give them tools, not just charity,” Obasi said. “Empowerment goes beyond money; it’s about helping people reclaim their dignity and build a future.”

Many of the beneficiaries, some of whom were widows and single mothers, shared touching stories of how the program has opened new doors for them.

They expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn sustainable trades and earn incomes for their families.

Obasi’s intervention is part of a broader effort by The Sunbeam Foundation to promote self-reliance and reduce rural poverty, especially among women and youth.
