The 22 governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), have passed a vote of confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and endorsed him as the party’s sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum and Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, moved the motion during the APC National Summit held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
“We acknowledge the resolution of these governors that Mr President carries our flag in 2027 and the governors take responsibility for delivering this mandate in their states,” Uzodimma said.
He was joined on stage by the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, who seconded the motion.
The motion was later put to a voice vote and received overwhelming support from APC leaders, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, members of the National Assembly, serving and former governors, and party stakeholders from all 36 states and the FCT.
