President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after attending the inauguration of Pope Leo the Fourteenth at the Vatican.
He arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Tuesday evening and was welcomed by senior government officials including FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, and APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.
Tinubu had departed the country on Saturday, May 17, on the invitation of the Vatican.
While in Rome, he attended the inauguration Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica and later had a brief interaction with the newly installed pontiff, Pope Leo the Fourteenth, formerly Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost.
The President also joined other world leaders at a dinner hosted by Cardinal Pietro Parolin, where he reaffirmed Nigeria’s dedication to peace, unity, and interreligious harmony.
He described the Vatican event as historic and urged Nigerians to stay united and work collectively for national progress.
