A J5 truck loaded with sachet water was rammed by a Dangote trailer earlier today at Karu Bridge in the Federal Capital Territory, causing panic among road users.
The crash occurred after the J5 driver braked abruptly on sighting road maintenance workers on the bridge. The trailer, trailing closely, failed to stop in time and slammed into the truck’s rear.
Though the impact was heavy, no lives were lost. The J5 driver sustained injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital.
Emergency teams from the FCT Emergency Management Department and the Federal Road Safety Corps arrived promptly to clear the wreckage and restore traffic flow.
Officials have urged motorists to be extra cautious around repair sites and to always keep a safe following distance.
