Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, says boosting infrastructure in satellite towns is the surest way to reduce migration to Abuja’s city centre.

Speaking during a project inspection in Bwari Area Council on Saturday, Wike stressed that the government is committed to improving basic amenities in communities like Bwari and Gwagwalada to discourage rural dwellers from flooding the capital.

“It will be a different thing, and people will no longer be compelled to live in the cities,” the minister said, noting that balanced development remains crucial in tackling the strain on Abuja’s urban infrastructure.
