President Bola Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, has commissioned two Augusta 109 S Trekker helicopters into the Nigerian Air Force fleet, reinforcing the country’s aerial defense capacity.
The induction ceremony held at the Presidential Air Force Hangar, Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, marks a fresh boost to the Air Force’s tactical strength in tackling nationwide security threats.
Described as a strategic milestone, the addition of the advanced helicopters is expected to sharpen the Force’s rapid response and combat readiness.
It also reflects the Tinubu administration’s drive to modernize military assets for better national security.
“With this move, we are equipping our armed forces to meet today’s challenges head on,” Shettima said, affirming government’s resolve to protect the nation.
