Lagos State Government Restricts Construction Hours to Reduce Disturbances

The Lagos State Government has announced new restrictions on construction hours, limiting building activities to between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday.

According to the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Oluyinka Olumide, the decision aims to protect the environment, combat building collapses, and promote social well-being.

The Lagos State Government will enforce compliance with the restriction through relevant agencies.

The public is encouraged to report any construction activities going on outside the approved hours to the appropriate authorities.

The government cited the need to protect the environment, prevent building collapses, and promote social well-being and wellness as the reasons for the restriction. By limiting construction hours, the government aims to reduce disturbances to residents and ensure a safer and more sustainable construction process .
