The Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC) has stopped further development on a designated green area in Katampe District, warning against illegal land encroachment in the Federal Capital Territory.
Chief Felix Obuah, coordinator of the council, ordered the developer to cease all construction activities immediately during an inspection visit to the site behind Gishiri village.
Obuah, who was accompanied by directors and heads of agencies under the council, said the move followed reports of unlawful land grabbing and development in the area.
He stated that the council remains committed to protecting Abuja’s master plan and will not tolerate any violations.
“The era of lawlessness is over,” Obuah said. “We will continue to safeguard public spaces and ensure green areas are preserved for the benefit of all residents.”
